Distracted driving is preventable and it increases crash risk fast. Safety research indicates that taking your eyes off the road for just 2 seconds can double your crash risk. Texting takes about 4.6 seconds on average; at 55mph that is roughly the length of a football field traveled with eyes off the road. Research also associates texting while driving with a 23 x higher likelihood of a safety critical event.

How can you reduce distraction:

1. Enable Do Not Disturb while driving

2. Set navigation and music before you drive

3. Pull over safely if you must read or respond
